DID YOU KNOW ALL KIDS SHOULD BE SEEN AT AGE 7?

EARLY TREATMENT

Dr. Suzy and Dr. Mark follow the American Association of Orthodontists’ recommendation that children visit an orthodontist at the first sign of an orthodontic problem, ideally around age 7. By then, a child has enough permanent teeth to determine whether an orthodontic problem exists or is developing. The goal of early treatment is to correct the growth of the jaw and certain bite problems. Early treatment also helps to make room for permanent teeth to come in properly, lessening the chance of extractions in the future.

Some orthodontic conditions that develop at a young age can have long-term, permanent effects if not treated. Dr. Suzy and Dr. Mark will perform a complimentary exam and discuss with you specifically what your child needs. In most situations, this will simply be to continue to monitor the development of the patient’s teeth.

Early treatment isn’t always necessary. However, interceptive treatment or phase I treatment sometimes allows Dr. Suzy and Dr. Mark to achieve results using methods that are less invasive when employed as a child is growing. Once the face and jaws are fully formed, additional treatment may be necessary. Examples of orthodontic concerns that are sometimes corrected with early treatment include: severe crowding, habits, open bite, deep bite, crossbite, large “overbite,” underbite, narrow jaws, and severely protruded front teeth.

The easiest way to find out what your child needs is to schedule a complimentary new patient exam with Engage Orthodontics! Call us today to reserve your appointment!

FINANCIAL OPTIONS IN APPLETON, MENASHA, HARRISON, SHERWOOD, LITTLE CHUTE, GRAND CHUTE, AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES IN FOX RIVER VALLEY, WI

“The Fox Valley deserves something to smile about. We make leading edge orthodontics affordable.”

Engage Orthodontics believes everyone should be able to afford an Amazing Smile. We are passionate about bringing leading-edge treatment to as many people as possible and will find a plan that works for your budget. Like every patient, you and your family have many financial obligations to meet. We work with you to make your financial situation a bridge, not a barrier, to a great smile. We are passionate about not letting finances get in the way of starting treatment by offering INDUSTRY-LEADING FLEXIBILITY in our financing.

How to Make Orthodontics affordable?

Use pre-tax dollars- Flex Accounts and HSA. Visit an orthodontist for you or your children prior to when you fund your accounts. They will help you determine when and how much to put in for orthodontic treatment. (Using flexible spending accounts to pay for treatment allows you to use pre-tax dollars for treatment. Many flexible spending accounts let you put up to $2500/year toward qualified health care expenses which include orthodontics.

With HSA accounts, you may be able to pay for the entire treatment pre-tax. Using these accounts creates a significant tax advantage and can be the most powerful way to save money on your orthodontic treatment. Make sure you pay attention to your company deadlines if you plan to use flex spending dollars. Most companies require you to let them know ahead of time you plan to use flex dollars and how much you would like to save into an account. Check with your specific company, but most companies have either November or June enrollment periods. Failing to sign up in time could cost you significantly more out-of-pocket dollars to pay for your treatment.)

Insurance

Many Employers offer this benefit, even for adults – check into it so you can use it wisely. Bring your card with you to your appointment, we are happy to help you check what is available. Also, a common misconception is that you can only see an in-network orthodontist. FALSE! For almost all orthodontic insurances, you will still get the same insurance benefit regardless of if you see an in-network doctor or not. When you visit an orthodontist, they should provide you with a complimentary insurance check.

Timing

Seeing an orthodontist BEFORE your child has lost all baby teeth (7-8 years old) is super important. It could save you money in the long run and educate you as to when the best time to start treatment is…or if it is even necessary. This will also help you make sure that insurance is able to be utilized.

Flexible Financing

This is where we can help. We offer 0% financing to help your investment fit into your budget. You deserve the smile you have always wanted.
